A Street Photography Photowalk with Cameraland and Nikon

I took part of a photowalk today, hosted by Cameraland and sposored by Nikon SA. We started out on Long Street in Cape Town and headed through Greenmarket Square towards the Company Gardens. There was a “best photo” competition on offer, but you had to submit images straight off the camera! My aged camera (my brain) didn’t quite want to behave with no edits, so I didn’t win. It was a pretty good and chilled walk, these are my results. My intention with the edits was to be high contrast, black and white....

Fight Night: Siv Ngesi vs Ryan Botha

In a great night of charity fights, one of the main reasons I was there was to watch the bout between Siv Ngesi and Ryan Botha. There were other fights in the night, including one of Rob van Vuuren (looking epically fit!). Here are some shots of the Siv – Ryan fight, all taken on my...

Photos from the Interfaith Service can be seen...
Hong Kong City at Night

Hong Kong City at Night

I haven’t done much travelling before.  In fact, one trip to Australia when I was 14 was all the overseas journeying I had done.  Then, being fortunate enough to having a trip paid for to Hong Kong and Philippines meant I could start exploring the world. Hong Kong is an amazing city.  I loved it, and would definitely go back.  We only spent two days there, but every second was spend to its full use.  In many ways, it was similar to Cape Town, with some costs slightly more, but it wasn’t too bad. Our final evening was spent on the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront of the Avenue of Stars to watch the sun go down behind the city skyline. There is normally a light show, The Symphony of Lights.  Unfortunately, we got the outer rains of an Asian hurricane earlier in the day which meant the show was cancelled.  That being said, it was great to go buy a few beers and sit on the waterfront and take a few...
